A private transfer from Ohrid to Belgrade Airport (BEG) covers about 655 km and takes roughly 8 hours 15 minutes, running through Skopje, across the border at Tabanovce–Preševo and north on the E75 past Niš to the terminal at Surčin.
It is the longest transfer we run, and almost all of it is motorway. Many travellers take the direct Air Serbia flight from Ohrid instead: the road transfer earns its place when you are a group of four, carrying more luggage than a connection allows, or the flight has fallen through.
How much is a transfer from Ohrid to Belgrade Airport?
This is a cross-border run of over 600 km, so it is quoted per journey rather than taken from our published fare list. Send us the date, the flight time and the number of passengers and you get a written price for the whole car, fixed before you travel.
The quote covers the whole vehicle, luggage, motorway tolls in North Macedonia and Serbia, the vignette and every border fee. You pay the driver at the end of the ride.
- Quoted per journey
- Written price for the whole car, up to 4 passengers, fixed once you confirm
- Night departure
- Early starts between 23:00 and 06:00 are priced with the journey rather than as a flat surcharge
- Payment
- Cash to the driver in euros or denars. Cross-border transfers are usually quoted in EUR. Confirm the currency when you book
The price is for the car rather than the seat, so a party of four pays it once. Larger groups are quoted as a minivan or a second vehicle.
The route: Ohrid to Belgrade through Skopje and Niš
The drive leaves Ohrid through Struga and Kicevo, joins the A2 through Skopje and Kumanovo and crosses into Serbia at Tabanovce–Preševo. From there it is the E75 north past Vranje and Niš to Belgrade and the airport at Surčin, west of the city.
Almost the whole journey is dual carriageway, which is what keeps 655 km down to a little over eight hours. It is a full travel day, so we build in comfort stops rather than driving it straight through.
- Every passenger must carry the travel documents their nationality requires. Passengers are responsible for checking current passport, ID and visa requirements with the official authorities before travel.
- Check your own requirements with the IATA Travel Centre or the destination country’s official border authority.
- Tabanovce–Preševo is the busiest crossing on the route: we quote with time in hand, and a queue does not change the price.
- Ask about a stop in Skopje or Niš if you would rather break the day in two.
How long does the drive from Ohrid to Belgrade take?
About 8 hours 15 minutes for the 655 km, including the border and stops. Traffic around Skopje and Belgrade at rush hour is the main variable.
For a flight out of Belgrade, leave Ohrid roughly 11 hours before take-off, which usually means an overnight start. Tell us the flight and we work the pickup time back from it.
Drive or take the direct flight from Ohrid?
Air Serbia flies Ohrid to Belgrade in about an hour, and for two people with hand luggage that is normally the better answer: the transfer to Ohrid Airport is a published 1,200 den and you are at BEG the same morning. The flight schedule is our own first suggestion.
The road transfer wins when the flight does not: a party of four, ski or diving equipment, a departure with no flight until the next day, or a cancelled leg you need covered today. One car, one driver, door to terminal.
For the flight-plus-transfer version of this journey, see Belgrade to Ohrid flights and airport taxi. Other long runs are listed under international transfers.
What the transfer includes
- The whole vehicle
- A comfort car for up to 4 passengers with luggage: one price for the car, not one per seat.
- Door-to-door pickup
- We collect you from your hotel, apartment or address anywhere around Lake Ohrid, at the time your flight needs.
- Tolls, road taxes and border fees
- Included on both sides of every crossing, so nothing is added at the end of the journey.
- Terminal drop-off
- Straight to departures at Belgrade, with help unloading the bags.
- Child seats
- Available for 300 den (~€5) per seat on request: tell us the children’s ages when you book and we bring the right seat.
- Free cancellation
- Up to 24 hours before pickup, at no cost.
Leave Ohrid about 11 hours before take-off and the drive, the border and check-in all fit comfortably. Flying into Belgrade instead? Choose the return trip when booking and both legs are quoted together, your driver meets you inside arrivals with a nameplate and flight tracking is free.
Where we pick you up around Lake Ohrid
We collect you from your hotel, apartment or address in Ohrid town, the Old Town on the hill, the lakeside hotel strip or Struga: the quote is the same across the Ohrid area. Peštani, Trpejca, Sveti Naum and the villages further south are quoted with the same journey.
Enter the address in the booking form and add a map pin or a note if it is hard to find. The driver comes to the door at the time we agree, not to a rank in the centre, and calls ahead if you would rather be met outside.
