A private transfer from Ohrid to Tivat Airport (TIV) covers about 455 km and takes roughly 7 hours 30 minutes, crossing North Macedonia into Albania and on into Montenegro. We collect you from your address around Lake Ohrid and drive you to the terminal at Tivat, about 20 km from Budva, or straight to your hotel on the coast.
Budva itself has no airport, so a flight from the Montenegrin coast leaves from Tivat or from Podgorica (TGD). The drive is the same either way and so is the quote.
It is a long day on the road, so it runs as a private car with one driver, fixed for your party, with stops when you want them. Tell us your flight and we work the pickup time back from it, with room for both borders.
How much is a transfer from Ohrid to Tivat Airport?
This is a cross-border long-distance run rather than one of our published airport fares, so we quote it per journey rather than from a fixed price list. Send us the date, the flight time and the number of passengers and you get a written price for the whole car, fixed before you travel.
The quote always covers the whole vehicle, luggage, tolls, road taxes and every border fee. Nothing is added at the end of the ride, and you pay the driver when you arrive.
- Quoted per journey
- Written price for the whole car, up to 4 passengers, fixed once you confirm
- Night departure
- Early starts between 23:00 and 06:00 are priced with the journey rather than as a flat surcharge
- Payment
- Cash to the driver in euros or denars. Cross-border transfers are usually quoted in EUR. Confirm the currency when you book
Four people travelling together pay the quote once, not four times. Larger groups are quoted as a second vehicle or a minivan.
The route: Ohrid to Tivat and Budva through Albania and Montenegro
The drive leaves Ohrid through Struga and crosses into Albania at Qafë Thanë, follows the lake down to Pogradec and Elbasan, then runs north past Tirana and Shkodër to the Montenegrin border at Božaj. From Podgorica it is the coast road down to Budva and Tivat.
Two borders means two passport checks, and the Albanian section is mountain road with real corners. We quote the journey with time in hand rather than promising the best case, and the price does not move if a queue runs long.
- Every passenger must carry the travel documents their nationality requires. Passengers are responsible for checking current passport, ID and visa requirements with the official authorities before travel.
- Check your own requirements with the IATA Travel Centre or the destination country’s official border authority.
- Rental cars often cannot cross these borders, a booked transfer avoids the paperwork entirely.
- There is no extra charge if a border queue is slow: the quote is fixed.
How long does the drive from Ohrid to Tivat take?
About 7 hours 30 minutes for the 455 km, including both crossings and a comfort stop or two. It is the longest of our Montenegro runs, and most travellers treat it as a travel day rather than squeezing it either side of a flight.
For a flight out of Tivat, leaving Ohrid about 10 hours before take-off is comfortable: that covers the drive, both borders and check-in. If you would rather break the journey, we can build in a stop at Shkodër or on the Albanian shore of the lake; tell us when you book and it is quoted with the trip.
Tivat, Podgorica or a hotel in Budva: where do we drop you?
Tivat (TIV) is the airport closest to Budva and the busiest in summer, when charter and low-cost flights fill the schedule. Podgorica (TGD) has the steadier year-round timetable and sits an hour closer to the Albanian border, which shortens the drive slightly.
If you are not flying at all, we drive you to your hotel in Budva, Kotor, Tivat town or anywhere along the coast for the same journey. A Budva transfer is the same drive as the airport run with a different last twenty minutes, so it is quoted the same way.
Choose on your flight rather than on the transfer, and tell us the terminal or the hotel address when you book.

- Door-to-door pickup

- Up to 24 hours before pickup, at no cost.
Leave Ohrid about 10 hours before take-off and the drive, the borders and check-in all fit comfortably. Flying into Tivat instead? Choose the return trip when booking and both legs are quoted together, your driver meets you inside arrivals with a nameplate and flight tracking is free.
Where we pick you up around Lake Ohrid
We collect you from your hotel, apartment or address in Ohrid town, the Old Town on the hill, the lakeside hotel strip or Struga: the quote is the same across the Ohrid area. Peštani, Trpejca, Sveti Naum and the villages further south are quoted with the same journey.
Enter the address in the booking form and add a map pin or a note if it is hard to find. The driver comes to the door at the time we agree, not to a rank in the centre, and calls ahead if you would rather be met outside.
